peak-information-rate

Syntax

Hierarchy Level

Description

Configure the maximum achievable rate. Packets that exceed the committed information rate (CIR) but are below the peak information rate (PIR) are marked with medium-high packet loss priority (yellow). Packets that exceed the PIR are marked with high packet loss priority (red). You can configure a discard action for packets that exceed the PIR.

Note:

When you include the peak-information-rate statement in the configuration, you must also include the committed-information-rate and peak-burst-size statements at the same hierarchy level.

Options

bits-per-second—Number of bits per second. You can specify a value in bits per second either as a complete decimal number or as a decimal number followed by the abbreviation k (1000), (1,000,000), or g (1,000,000,000).

  • Range: 32,000 bps through 10,000,000,000 bps (10 gbps)
