The power supplies are located at the rear of the chassis. Each
AC power supply weighs approximately 5.0 lb (2.3 kg)).
Do not leave a power supply slot empty for more than 30 minutes
while the services gateway is operational. For proper airflow, the power
supply must remain in the chassis, or a blank panel must be used in
an empty slot.
After powering off a power supply, wait at least 60 seconds
before turning it back on.
Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare
wrist and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis. For more information about ESD, see Preventing Electrostatic Discharge Damage.
Switch the circuit
breaker in the chassis above the power supply to the off position (O).
While grasping the handle on the power supply faceplate with
one hand, use your other hand to pull the spring-loaded locking pin in the release lever away from the chassis and turn the release lever counterclockwise until it stops.
Let go of the locking pin in the release lever. Ensure that the pin is seated inside the corresponding hole in the chassis.
Pull the power supply straight out of the chassis.
Do not touch the power connector on the top of the power supply
(see Figure 3). It
can contain dangerous voltages.
