Back-End Authentication and Accounting

This part contains chapters that describe the configuration files associated with back-end authentication and accounting. For the architecture of Steel-Belted Radius Carrier, see SBR Carrier Administration and Configuration Guide.

The SS7 and SIGTRAN protocol stacks are used in conjunction with the optional SIM Authentication module to provide gateway functionality which allows Steel-Belted Radius Carrier to pass Mobile Access Part (MAP) requests to the SS7 network. MAP requests are passed over the SS7 network to the Home Location Register (HLR), which is the primary subscriber database in the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) network. For more information see the SBR Carrier Installation Guide

Any proxy target RADIUS server can be configured as a Steel-Belted Radius Carrier authentication method. For more information about proxy RADIUS authentication and accounting, see the SBR Carrier Administration and Configuration Guide.
