Installing VXA2000 Series Chassis in the Rack

To install the content engine in the rack (see Figure 1 and Figure 2):

Caution: If you are installing more than one content engine in a rack, install the lowest one first. Installing a content engine higher up in a rack or cabinet requires a lift.

Caution: Before front mounting the content engine in a rack, have a qualified technician verify that the rack is strong enough to support the content engine's weight and is adequately supported at the installation site.

Caution: Lifting the chassis and mounting it in a rack requires two people (one person to hold the content engine in place and a second person to install the screws). The chassis weighs approximately 30 lb (13.6 kg).

    1. Ensure that the rack is in its permanent location and is secured to the building. Ensure that the installation site allows adequate clearance for both airflow and maintenance.
    2. Position the content engine in front of the rack or cabinet.
    3. Hold onto the bottom of the chassis, and carefully lift it so that the mounting brackets contact the rack rails.

Warning: To prevent injury, keep your back straight and lift with your legs, not your back. Avoid twisting your body as you lift. Balance the load evenly and be sure that your footing is solid.

    4. Align the mounting brackets with the holes in the rack rails.
    5. Install a mounting screw into each of the open mounting holes aligned with the rack, starting from the bottom.
    6. Visually inspect the alignment of the content engine. If the content engine is installed properly in the rack, all the mounting screws on one side of the rack should be aligned with the mounting screws on the opposite side, and the content engine should be level.
