    Replacing a Cooling Fan on VXA Series Content Engines

    The VXA Series Content Engine has three cooling fans that are hot-swappable. Replace the fan after five years of accumulated use.

    Warning: To avoid injury, keep tools and your fingers away from the fans as you slide the fan tray out of the chassis.

    To replace a fan:

    1. Examine the rear of the chassis. Verify that the fan is not spinning.
    2. Unfasten the two thumbscrews on the fan housing of the fan you want to replace. See Figure 1.

    3. Open the ejector lever downward to allow extraction of the fan assembly.
    4. Pull the front edge of the ejector lever to remove the fan completely.
    5. Insert the new fan assembly.
    6. Open the ejector lever upward to fully seat the new fan assembly.
    7. Refasten the two thumbscrews on the fan housing.
