AC Power Electrical Safety Guidelines for VXA Series Media Flow Engines
![]() | Caution: For Media Flow Engines with AC power supplies, an external surge protective device (SPD) must be used at the AC power source. |
The following electrical safety guidelines apply to AC-powered appliances:
- AC-powered appliances are shipped with a three-wire electrical cord with a grounding-type plug that fits only a grounding-type power outlet. Do not circumvent this safety feature. Equipment grounding must comply with local and national electrical codes.
- The power cord serves as the main disconnecting device for the appliance. The socket outlet must be near the appliance and be easily accessible.
- For VXA Series Media Flow Engines that have more than one power supply connection, you must ensure that all power connections are fully disconnected so that power to the appliance is completely removed to avoid electric shock. To disconnect power, unplug all power cords (one for each power supply).
![]() | Caution: The AC power cord for the appliances is intended for use with that appliance only and not for any other use. |
