    Storage Devices for VXA2000, VXA2002, and VXA2010 Content Engines

    The VXA Series Content Engine supports solid-state drive (SSD), Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA), and Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) storage drives specified by Juniper Networks. Figure 1 shows the arrangement of storage drive slots on a VXA2002 Content Engine; the layout is the same for the VXA2000 and VXA2010 models.

    Note: When you have SSD drives in addition to SAS or SATA drives, populate the first slots in the chassis with the SAS or SATA drives, and populate the last slots with the SSD drives.

    Caution: MLC SSDs have a finite number of WRITES. Take care to ensure that the SSD meets the needs of your specific application. The SSD comes with a factory setting to ensure a 3-year minimum life which means that the SSD will adjust WRITE throughput to maintain the 3-year minimum life. For more information about the proper use of SSD, consult your Juniper Networks representative.
