Removing Components from a JCS 1200 Chassis
To remove components from a JCS 1200 chassis:
- Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
- Power off any Routing Engines in the JCS 1200 platform (see Powering Off a JCS 1200 Routing Engine).
- Disconnect the power from the JCS 1200 platform (see Disconnecting Power from the JCS1200 Platform ).
- Remove the following components from the front
of the JCS 1200 platform:
- Switch modules: Pull the handle on each switch module or filler to the open position and remove the module or filler (see Removing a JCS 1200 Switch Module or Module Filler).
- Management modules: Pull the handle on each management module or filler to the open position and remove the module or filler (see Removing a JCS 1200 Management Module or Module Filler).
- Disengage the following components from
the JCS 1200 midplane using the procedure indicated:
Note: Make sure each component is pulled out of the JCS 1200 platform at least 1 in. (2.54 cm).
- Routing Engines: Pull the two release handles on each Routing Engine to the open position (see Removing a JCS 1200 Routing Engine).
- Power modules: Pull the handle on each power module or filler to the open position (see Removing a JCS 1200 Power Module).
- Media tray: Pull the handle on each media tray or filler to the open position (see Removing a JCS 1200 Media Tray).
- Remove the fan shuttle from the JCS 1200 platform (see Removing a JCS 1200 Fan Shuttle).
- Remove the upper and lower power boxes from the rear of the JCS 1200 chassis (see Removing a JCS 1200 Power Box).
- If you are instructed to return the chassis, follow all packaging instructions and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
