Diagnostic LEDs on the JCS 1200 Platform

Use Table 1 to find solutions to problems that are identified by LEDs on the front and rear JCS 1200 system LED panels.

Power-on

Green indicates that power is present in the JCS 1200 platform. When this LED is off, the power subsystem, the AC power source, or the LED has failed, or the management module is not present or not functioning.

Caution: If the power-on LED is off, it does not mean that no electrical current is present in the JCS 1200 platform. The LED might be burned out. To remove all electrical current from the JCS 1200 platform, you must disconnect all power cords from all power modules.

  1. Make sure that the JCS 1200 platform is connected to a compatible power source (see Connecting the JCS 1200 AC Platform to AC Power or Connecting the JCS 1200 DC Platform to DC Power).
  2. Reseat the following components:
    1. Media tray
    2. Management module
    3. Power modules
  3. Contact your Juniper Networks representative.

Location

Blue indicates that a condition has occurred in the JCS 1200 platform that has caused the remote systems management to identify the JCS 1200 platform as needing attention.

Look for any information or error LEDs on the system LED panels, the modules, and the Routing Engines in the JCS 1200 platform.

Critical system fault

When this LED is lit, the JCS 1200 platform has a critical system fault. A critical system fault is an error or event that is detected by the system and that has a significant impact to the system. In this case, the system cannot continue to operate or is operating in a nonredundant power or cooling configuration.

  1. Check the error log for messages.
  2. Look for a lit error LED on the modules and Routing Engines to locate a failing component.

Major system fault

When this LED is lit, the JCS 1200 platform has a major system fault. The system can continue to operate but might lose some function and performance.

  1. Check the error log for messages.
  2. Look for a lit error LED on the modules and Routing Engines to locate a failing component.

Minor system fault

When this LED is lit, the JCS 1200 platform has a minor system fault. The system can continue to operate, usually without noticeable loss of function or performance.

Check the error log for the messages. Check the LEDs on the JCS 1200 platform and the Routing Engines to isolate the component.

Media tray fault

(This LED is only on the media tray in the front of the JCS 1200 platform.)

There is an error with the media tray.

  1. Reseat the media tray.
  2. Contact your Juniper Networks representative.

Alarm panel fault

(This LED is only on the alarm panel module in the rear of the JCS 1200 platform.)

There is an error with the alarm panel module.

  1. Reseat the alarm panel module.
  2. Contact your Juniper Networks representative.
