  2. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
  3. Remove any modules that come installed in the JCS 1200 platform to reduce the weight of the unit.
  4. Install the JCS 1200 platform into the rack. See Installing the JCS 1200 &router-type-caps; Using a Lift.
  5. Reinstall the removed modules in the JCS 1200 platform.

Note: Make sure that the JCS 1200 platform has adequate power to support all of the installed components. The JCS 1200 platform must contain either two or four power modules. See JCS 1200 Platform Power Overview for more information.

  6. Install the required JCS 1200 platform components.
  7. Supply power to the JCS 1200 platform. See Connecting the JCS 1200 AC Platform to AC Power or Connecting the JCS 1200 DC Platform to DC Power for more information.
  8. Make sure that the latest level of firmware is installed on all of the JCS 1200 components. See https://www.juniper.net/support/ for additional information.
