TCX1000-ILA Hardware Alarms and Probable Causes

 

Table 1 describes the hardware alarms supported by the TCX1000-ILA and includes probable causes and corrective actions.

This alarm is raised if: (temperature > HighThr temperature < LowThr)

This alarms clears when board temperature returns to normal range: (temperature < (HighThr– 1) and temperature > (LowThr + 1))

Probable cause: Environment or fan fail.

Corrective action: Replace fan to recover the temperature to normal range:

CommunicationAbnormal

Critical

TCX1000-ILA internal alarm.

This alarm is raised if communication between X86 and amplifier has problem.

Probable cause: Submodule communication exception.

Corrective action: Perform a hard reset on the TCX1000-ILA.

If the hard reset does not clear the alarm, the device may need to be replaced.

Fan0Missing

Critical

Fan 0 is missing.

Probable cause: Fan absent.

Corrective action: Insert Fan in to fan slot 0.

Fan1Missing

Fan 1 is missing.

Probable cause: Fan absent.

Corrective action: Insert Fan in to fan slot 1.

Fan2Missing

Fan 2 is missing.

Fan 0 speed below 768 rotate/minimum.

Probable cause: Fan damage.

Corrective action: Clean the fan or replace it.

Probable cause: Network cable is disconnected.

Corrective action: Reconnect the network cable.

Amplifier AB case temperature alarm. This alarm raises if the amplifier case temperature is above 80° C.

Probable cause: Environment or fan failure.

Corrective action: This alarm clears when amplifier case temperature is below 79° C.

Amplifier AB module reflection alarm. This alarm raises if: ((LineAout/LineBout power >= 19 dBm) and (Back-reflection Power– LineAout/LineBout power) > -17dB))

Corrective action: This alarm clears when ((LineAout/LineBout power < 19 dBm) || (Back-reflection Power – LineAout/LineBout power < -19dB) )

Amplifier AB Out of gain alarm. This alarm raises if: (GainSetting - RealGain > 0.5dB)

This alarm clears when (GainSetting- RealGain < 0.5dB)

Corrective action: Check optical path.

Amplifier AB Pump 0 current alarm.

Corrective action: To clear the alarm, reset module.

If the alarm does not clear, the device may need to be replaced.

Corrective action: To clear the alarm, reset module.

If the alarm does not clear, the device may need to be replaced.

Amplifier AB Pump0 temperature alarm. This alarm raises when pump temperature is out of threshold (20° to 30° C).

Corrective action: This alarm clears when pump temperature is within (21° to 29° C).

Corrective action: This alarm clears when ((Back-reflection Power - VOA out power) < APR Clear Threshold)

This alarm raises when (|GainSetting- RealGain| > 0.5dB)

Corrective action: This alarm clears when (|GainSetting- RealGain| < 0.5dB)

Check optical path.

Amplifier BA Pump0 current alarm.

Corrective action: To clear this alarm, reset the device. If the alarm does not clear device may need replacement.

Amplifier BA Pump1 current alarm.

Corrective action: To clear this alarm, reset the device. If the alarm does not clear it may need replacement.

Amplifier BA Pump0 temperature alarm. This alarm raises when pump temperature is out of threshold (20° to 30° C).

Corrective action: This alarm clears when pump temperature is within (21° to 29° C).

Probable cause: High Back Reflection is caused by dirty fiber connectors or fiber plant downstream from Line-Out.

Corrective action: Carefully clean all fiber connectors and patch-panels. Reflectometer/OTDR can be used to determine reflective event in fiber plant.
