Hybrid WAN Model
The Hybrid WAN model is designed to allow network services, in the form of VNFs, to be deployed at remote customer sites as either a replacement for or an addition to traditional physical CPE devices. This model is sometimes referred to as the universal CPE (uCPE) model
With this model, the CPE must be able to host and provide the required network functions. Juniper meets this requirement with its NFX Series and SRX Series product lines. SRX devices include a rich set of security services as physical network functions, while NFX Series devices can host a range of VNFs, and support service chaining, all managed through Juniper’s cloud-based orchestration tool, Contrail Service Orchestration (CSO).
