New and Changed Features

This section describes the new features and enhancements to existing features in Policy Enforcer Release 17.1R1

  • Third-Party Switch Support—Threat mitigation now supports third-party switches in addition to Juniper Networks SRX Series devices and EX Series and QFX Series switches. See Product Compatibility for more information on supported switches and their requirements.
  • VMWare NSX integration—You can now add a vSRX virtual security appliance as a partner security service in the VMware NSX environment. The vSRX works in conjunction with Junos Space Security Director and VMware NSX Manager to deliver a complete and integrated virtual security solution for your SDDC environment. The vSRX provides advanced security services, including IPS and application control and visibility services through AppSecure. For more information, see VMware NSX Integration with Juniper SDSN.
  • Custom Infected Host Feed Support—Custom feeds now support infected hosts identified through any on-prem SIEM tool and can be uploaded through the Policy Enforcer APIs or manually thru the Policy Enforcer user interface. For more information, see the Policy Enforcer online help or the Policy Controller API Developer Guide.
  • Junos Fusion Support for EX Series Switches—Policy Enforcer now supports Junos Fusion as a switching platform for campus solutions.
  • Enhanced Support of Sky ATP—Policy Enforcer now supports malware detection for both SMTP and SMPTS and includes additional Sky ATP integration in Security Director. For more information, see the Policy Enforcer online help.
