    Known Issues

There were several persistent issues in testing that caused the test results to fall outside of the solution requirements. These issues include:

    • iSCSI LAG is not supported. Only 10-Gbps of forwarding can be achieved.
      • This is a limitation of the storage array and the iSCSI protocol. iSCSI does support multi-path in the event of failure.
    • IPv6 on MC-LAG (Active/Active) is not currently supported.
    • In-service software upgrade (ISSU) is not supported by the MX Series if the chassis is populated with all 10-Gbps line cards. A 1-Gbps line card is required in order to start ISSU.
    • Graceful Routing Engine switchover (GRES) requires a 6-second BFD timer to work properly on both the MX and EX Series. This is a known issue on MX Series (and now on EX/QFabric).
    • A 96-member LACP LAG is not supported by MX Virtual Chassis. A workaround was put in place to utilize 4 sets of 24-member LAG interfaces.
    • VM Orchestration by Junos Space is not supported if LAG is configured toward the target servers.
    • Junos Space / Network Director does not support Layer 3 provisioning.
    • Junos Firefly Host does not support Application Layer Gateways (ALGs).
