Troubleshooting Resources Overview
To troubleshoot an optical ILA use LEDs on the ports, management panel, and components.
LEDs—When the optical ILA detects an alarm condition, it lights the red or amber alarm LED on the front panel as appropriate. In addition, you can also use component LEDs to troubleshoot the optical ILA. For more information, see the following topics:

Optical ILA Alarm Messages Overview
Table 1 describes the optical ILA alarms and provides the corrective action.

edfaEabCaseTemperature | E-ab case temperature alarm. When the EDFA case temperature is above 80° C, an alarm is triggered. E-ab is the A to B direction (for example, east to west). | When the EDFA case temperature is below 80° C, the alarm is cleared. |
edfaEabRFL | E-ab module reflection alarm. This alarm is triggered when there is high back reflection at the output port of the optical ILA. E-ab is the A to B direction (for example, east to west) | Check that the fiber-optic cable is connected at the output port, and if it is connected, clean the fiber-optic cable and reconnect it. |
edfaEabOOG | EDFA E-ab is out of gain. This alarm is triggered if the difference between the gain setting and the actual achieved gain is more than 0.5 dB. E-ab is the A to B direction (for example, east to west). | Wait for the optical ILA control loops to self-adjust. |
