Maintaining the TX Matrix Host Subsystem

Purpose

For optimum TX Matrix performance, verify the condition of the host subsystem. The host subsystem comprises up to two Routing Engines and adjacent Control Boards functioning together.

Action

On a regular basis:

  • Check the host subsystem LEDs (HOST 0 and HOST 1) on the craft interface. If the red HOST 0 or HOST 1 LED is lit, look at the LCD to get more information about the cause of the problem.

  • Check the LED display on the craft interface to view information about the TX Matrix router temperature and the status of the Routing Engines.

  • Check the LEDs on the Routing Engine faceplate. During normal operations, the ONLINE LED is lit steadily green.

  • Check the LEDs on the Control Board faceplate.

  • Check the status of the Routing Engines. Issue the show chassis routing-engine command.

The output is similar to the following:

    user@host> show chassis routing-engine scc
  • Check the status of the Control Boards. Issue the show chassis environment cb command. The output is similar to the following:

user@host> show chassis environment cb scc
