Troubleshooting the TX Matrix Host Subsystem
Problem:
Description:
The following indicate a problem with the host subsystem:
The
OK
LED on the Control Board is off.The
FAIL
LED on the Control Board is lit green when the host subsystem detects a fault. An alarm indicates that a host subsystem has been removed or failed.
The ONLINE LED on the RE-C1800 is lit red or is off.
The
ONLINE
LED on the RE-2000 is lit red or is off.
Solution
- Check the
ONLINE
LED on the Routing Engine faceplate. If theONLINE
LED is red, issue the chassis routing-engine command to check the status of the Routing Engines in the routing matrix.user@host> show chassis routing-engine
user@host> show chassis routing-engine scc-re0: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Routing Engine status: Slot 0: Current state Master Election priority Master (default) Temperature 34 degrees C / 93 degrees F CPU temperature 33 degrees C / 91 degrees F DRAM 2048 MB Memory utilization 12 percent CPU utilization: User 0 percent Background 0 percent Kernel 2 percent Interrupt 0 percent Idle 98 percent Model RE-4.0 Serial ID P11123900153 Start time 2004-08-05 18:42:05 PDT Uptime 9 days, 22 hours, 49 minutes, 50 seconds Last reboot reason Router rebooted after a normal shutdown Load averages: 1 minute 5 minute 15 minute 0.00 0.08 0.07 lcc0-re0: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Routing Engine status: Slot 0: Current state Master Election priority Master (default) Temperature 33 degrees C / 91 degrees F CPU temperature 30 degrees C / 86 degrees F DRAM 2048 MB Memory utilization 12 percent CPU utilization: User 0 percent Background 0 percent Kernel 1 percent Interrupt 0 percent Idle 98 percent Model RE-3.0 Serial ID 210865700363 Start time 2004-08-05 18:42:05 PDT Uptime 9 days, 22 hours, 48 minutes, 20 seconds Last reboot reason Router rebooted after a normal shutdown Load averages: 1 minute 5 minute 15 minute 0.00 0.02 0.00 lcc2-re0: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Routing Engine status: Slot 0: Current state Master Election priority Master (default) Temperature 34 degrees C / 93 degrees F CPU temperature 35 degrees C / 95 degrees F DRAM 2048 MB Memory utilization 12 percent CPU utilization: User 0 percent Background 0 percent Kernel 2 percent Interrupt 0 percent Idle 98 percent Model RE-4.0 Serial ID P11123900126 Start time 2004-08-05 18:42:05 PDT Uptime 9 days, 22 hours, 49 minutes, 4 seconds Last reboot reason Router rebooted after a normal shutdown Load averages: 1 minute 5 minute 15 minute 0.01 0.01 0.0
- Issue the show chassis alarms command to display Routing Engine alarms.
- Use the show chassis environment cb command
to check the status of the Control Boards. The state should be Online.
