Troubleshooting the TX Matrix Craft Interface

Problem:

Description:

The following alarms and command output indicate a problem with the craft interface:

  • An alarm indicates that the craft interface has failed as shown in Table 1.

  • The show chassis environment fpm sfc 0 indicates that the craft interface is Offline.

  • The show chassis craft-interface displays no output.

Solution

  1. Use the show chassis environment fpm sfc 0 command to verify that the state of the craft interface is online.
user@host> show chassis environment fpm sfc 0
  2. Use the show chassis craft-interface command to verify that the craft interface is returning information about the chassis.
    • If no information is returned in the output, make sure that the command was issued from the master Routing Engine. If the command was issued to the master Routing Engine, the craft interface has failed, and should be replaced.

    • If the some output is displayed, but no output is shown for the LCD, the LCD has failed. Replace the craft interface.
