Powering Off the SRX1400 Services Gateway
You can power off the services gateway in one of the following ways:
Graceful shutdown—Through the CLI, use the command request system power-off to power off the services gateway.
Forced shutdown—You can do a force shut down of the services gateway in two ways:
Press and hold the POWER button that is on the front of the SYSIOC card. The services gateway begins to shut down the operating system and then powers off.
Unplug the power cable form the services gateway.
When you unplug the power cable, the services gateway will shut down immediately and its Power-On/Power-Off state will not change.
The power state of the services gateway must be considered when turning on the power again:
If the power state of the services gateway is ON, the cable must be plugged in to turn on the services gateway.
If the power state of the services gateway is OFF, the POWER button must be pressed and held to turn on the services gateway.
Use the graceful shutdown method to power off or reboot the services gateway. Use the forced shutdown method as a last resort to recover the services gateway if the services gateway operating system is not responding to the graceful shutdown method.
To remove power completely from the device, unplug the AC power cord (for AC-powered devices) or switch off the DC power source (for DC-powered devices). After powering off the device, wait for at least 10 seconds before powering on the device again. After powering on the device, wait for at least 10 seconds before powering it off.
Forced shutdown can result in data loss and corruption of the file system.
