Removing the Fan Trays Before Installing an MX2020 Router with a Router Transport Kit
To remove the upper and lower fan tray (see Figure 1 and Figure 2):

- Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to an approved site ESD grounding point. See the instructions for your site.
- Loosen the two captive screws on each side of the fan tray access panel and open.
- Loosen the two captive screws on the fan tray faceplate.
- While grasping the handle, press and hold the latch until the status LED turns off. Pull the fan tray out approximately 1 to 3 in.
- Press and hold the latch a second time to disengage fan
operation. Place one hand under the fan tray for support, while pulling
the fan tray completely out of the router.
Note: The double latch system is a safety mechanism, so you cannot pull the fan tray out in one motion.
Caution: Do not stack fan trays on one another after you remove them. Place each component on an antistatic mat resting on a stable, flat surface.
