Installing and Removing EX-series Switch Hardware Components

The EX-series switch chassis is a rigid sheet-metal structure that houses the other hardware components. EX-series switches have hot-removable and hot-insertable FRUs that you can remove and replace while the switch is functioning without turning off power to the switch or disrupting switch functions. The field-replaceable units (FRUs) in EX-series switches are:

  • Power supply
  • Fan tray
  • Uplink module

To install an uplink module in an EX-series switch, follow instructions in Installing an Uplink Module in an EX-series Switch. To remove an uplink module from an EX-series switch, follow instructions in Removing an Uplink Module from an EX-series Switch.
