    Removing and Installing
a JCS1200 DC Terminal Cover

To remove a DC terminal cover from a JCS1200 DC platform (see Figure 1):

    1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
    2. Power off each Routing Engine (see Powering Off a JCS1200 Routing Engine).
    3. Turn off the power source.

Note: After you disconnect the JCS1200 platform from power, wait at least 5 seconds before you connect the JCS1200 platform to power again.

    4. Remove the two Phillips screws that attach the terminal cover to the DC power box.
    5. Pull the terminal cover away from the JCS1200 platform.

    Removing and Installing
a JCS1200 DC Terminal Cover

To install a DC terminal cover on a JCS1200 DC platform (see Figure 2):

    1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
    2. Make sure power has been disconnected from the platform.
    3. Turn off the power source.

Note: After you disconnect the JCS1200 platform from power, wait at least 5 seconds before you connect the platform to power again.

    4. Orient the terminal cover so that the terminal cover fits over the DC power terminals and the screw holes on the terminal cover are aligned with the screw holes on the DC power box.
    5. Install two Phillips screws to attach the terminal cover to the power box.
