Connecting the Control Planes in an Operational Line-Card Chassis
The RJ-45 ports labeled SFC1
through SFC3
on TXP-CIP are reserved for future use.
To connect the control planes (see Figure 1) between the TXP-CIP on the TX Matrix Plus Router and LCC-CBs on the line-card chassis (LCC):
- Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
- Plug one end of a UTP Category 5 cable into the RJ-45

on the TX Matrix Plus router. The cable wiring is straight-through (not crossover). - Plug the other end of the cable into the port labeled
SFC0
on the LCC-CB in slotCB0
on the LCC. Arrange the cable appropriately. - Plug one end of a UTP Category 5 cable into the RJ-45
LCC control plane port

on the LCC. Arrange the cable appropriately. - Verify that the
LINK
LED on both LCC-CBs in the LCC are lit green.
