Setting the M/S Configuration Switches on the LCC-CBs

 

You configure a line-card chassis ID by setting a physical switch on each LCC-CB faceplate in the LCC.

To set the M/S configuration switches:

  1. Set the M/S switch on each LCC-CB faceplate to M. For a single standalone chassis (T1600/T4000), it is set to S, in a routing matrix, it is set to M.
  2. Verify that the chassis ID switch on each LCC-CB is set to a value of 0. You must use the same chassis ID on each LCC-CB on the LCC. In a routing matrix with TX Matrix router or the TX Matrix Plus router, the chassis ID can be 0 to 3. In a routing matrix with TX Matrix plus router with 3D SIBs, the chassis ID can be 0 to 7. For a T4000 in a TX Matrix plus router with 3D SIBs, the number must be even (0, 2, 4, 6).

    You must follow these requirements when setting the LCC-CB ID switches during the integration of an operational LCC:

    • You assign a chassis ID of 0 to the router. Both LCC-CBs in an LCC must be set to 0. The switch setting must be unique within the routing matrix.

    • The switch settings must match where the control cables are connected on the LCC-CB.

    On an LCC in a routing matrix, you must set the M/S Switch to multi-chassis. If the M/S Switch is changed to single-chassis, the M/S Switch Changed alarm is raised. After switch is changed back to multi-chassis, the alarm gets cleared.
