Grounding the TX Matrix Plus Router

You ground the TX Matrix Plus router by attaching a grounding cable to the chassis. To ground the TX Matrix Plus router:

  1. Read the chassis grounding specification.

TX Matrix Plus Chassis Grounding Specifications

  2. Gather the following tools and parts:
    • Grounding cable (which you must provide)

    • Grounding lug (provided with the router)

    • M6 screws or UNC 1/4-20 screws

    • Electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding wrist strap

  3. Connect the grounding cable to a proper earth ground.
  4. Verify that a licensed electrician has attached the cable lug provided with the TX Matrix Plus router to the grounding cable.
  5. Make sure that grounding surfaces are clean and brought to a bright finish before grounding connections are made.
  6. Place the grounding cable lug over the grounding points on the bottom rear of the chassis. The bottom pair is sized for M6 screws, and the top pair is sized for UNC 1/4-20 screws.
  7. Secure the grounding cable lug to the grounding points, first with the washers, then with the screws.
  8. Verify that the grounding cabling is correct, that the grounding cable is not touching or blocking access to TX Matrix Plus components, and that it does not drape where people could trip on it.
