QFX5120 Access Port and Uplink Port LEDs

Each network port and QSFP28 port have two LEDs that show the link activity and status of the port. The built-in QSFP28 port on a QFX5120-48Y switch has four LEDs that shows both the link activity and status of the port in a QFX5120-48Y switch. Each QSFP28 on a QFX5120-32C switch has 4 LEDs. The 1st LED is for non-channelized ports and the other three are for channelized ports.

See Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, and Figure 4 to know the location of LEDs on the QSFP28 ports in the QFX5120 switch.

Each QSFP28 port on the QFX5120-48Y switch has four LEDs. The first LED denotes the non-channelized ports and the other three denote the channelized ports. Each QSFP28 port on a QFX5120-32C switch has four LEDs which display the link activity and status of the port. The first LED denotes non-channelized ports and the other three denote channelized ports. See Table 1 to know about the different link activity LEDs on QSFP28 Network ports.

The port is administratively disabled, there is no power, the link is down, or there is a fault.

1

Green

On steadily

A link is established (either 100-Gigabit or 40-Gigabit, non-channelized) but there is no link activity. When this LED is on, the LEDs in positions 2 to 4 are off.

A link is established (either 100-Gigabit or 40-Gigabit, non-channelized) and there is link activity.

Green

On steadily

A 25/10 Gigabit link is established in channelized mode, but there is no link activity.

A 25/10 Gigabit link is established in channelized mode, and there is link activity.

Blinking

All four LEDs blink to indicate the beacon function was enabled on the port.

Note: Note that the beacon function is not available for the QFX5120-32C switch.

The Table 2 describes the link activity LED on SFP28 and SFP+ Network ports.
