The OSNR performance listed in Table 3 is for an appropriate level of optical filtering of the amplified
spontaneous emission (ASE) reaching the receiver and is derived using
a 0.22–nm 3–dB full-width Gaussian filter. When no FEC
is used, there is no OTN framing.
