Each media tray consists of the following components:

  • USB connectors—Use these connectors to upgrade software on the Routing Engines. The attached USB device must be compatible with USB v2.0, or earlier.
  • LED panel—The LEDs on the media tray provide status information for your JCS 1200 platform. Table 1 describes the functions of these LEDs.

Name

Color

State

Description

Power-on

Green

On steadily

Power is present in the JCS 1200 platform.

Off

The power subsystem, the power module, or the LED has failed.

Caution: If the power-on LED is off, it does not mean that electrical current is not present in the JCS 1200 platform. The LED might be defective. To remove all electrical current from the JCS 1200 platform, you must disconnect all power cords from all power input connectors.

Location

Blue

Flashing or on steadily

Indicates that this LED has been turned on by the system administrator to aid in visually locating the JCS 1200 platform.

Note: You can turn off the location LED through the management module.

Critical system fault (CRT)

Amber or red

Note: The color of this LED can be set to amber or red through the management module.

On steadily

The JCS 1200 platform has a critical system fault. A critical system fault is an error or event that is detected by the system and that has a significant impact to the system. In this case, the system cannot continue to operate or is operating in a nonredundant power or cooling configuration.

Major system fault (MJR)

Amber or red

Note: The color of this LED can be set to amber or red through the management module.

On steadily

The JCS 1200 platform has a major system fault. The system can continue to operate but might lose some function and performance.

Minor system fault (MNR)

Amber

On steadily

The JCS 1200 platform has a minor system fault. The system can continue to operate, usually without noticeable loss of functionality or performance.

Media tray fault

Amber

On steadily

There is a fault on the media tray. The system can continue to operate, usually without the use of the components on the media tray.
