EX-series Switch—Network Port LEDs

Each network port (RJ-45 connectors) on the front panel of an EX-series switch has two LEDs. Figure 1 shows the network ports and the locations of the LEDs on the port.

The LEDs labeled LED 1 in Table 1 indicate whether the ports are in full-duplex or half-duplex mode, and the link speed. LEDs labeled LED 2 indicate link activity and whether PoE is enabled on the ports. Table 1 describes these LEDs, their colors and state, and the status they indicate.

LED 1

Unlit

No link activity; PoE is not enabled.

Green

  • On steadily—The port is up and the link is active, but there is no link activity.
  • Blinking—The port is up, with active links.

Yellow

On steadily—PoE is enabled.

LED 2

Green

Indicates that port is operating in full-duplex mode. The link-speed indicators are:

  • One blink per second—10 Mbps
  • Two blinks per second—100 Mbps
  • Three blinks per second—1000 Mbps

Yellow

Indicates that port is operating in half-duplex mode. The link-speed indicators are:

  • One blink per second—10 Mbps
  • Two blinks per second—100 Mbps
  • Three blinks per second—1000 Mbps
