Line-Card Chassis PIC Cable Connections and Considerations
Consider PIC cabling as part of your overall cable management planning.
- Each T1600 router can contain up to 32 PICs, and each
PIC can contain up to 10 cables (for example, the 10-port Gigabit
Ethernet PIC), for a total of 320 cables per router. A routing matrix
with eight T1600 router could have up to 2560 PIC cables. For more
information about T1600 PICs and PIC cables, see the T1600 Core Router Hardware Guide
and the T1600 Interface Module Reference
.
- Each T4000 router can contain up to 16 PICs, and each
PIC can contain up to 24 cables (for example, the 24-port 10-Gigabit
Ethernet LAN/WAN PIC with Oversubscription and SFP+), for a total
of 384 cables per router. A routing matrix with four T4000 router
could have up to 1536 PIC cables. For more information about T4000
PICs and PIC cables, see the T4000 Core Router Hardware Guide
and the T4000 Interface Module Reference
