    The J-Web Interface Dashboard for the QFX Series

    When you log on to the J-Web interface, the dashboard for the QFX Series appears. Use the dashboard to view system information.

    The dashboard comprises four panels and a graphical chassis viewer. Click Preferences to choose which panels to display and set the refresh interval for chassis viewer information. Click OK to save your preference changes and return to the dashboard or click Cancel to return to the dashboard without saving changes.

    Note: You can drag and drop the various panels to different locations in the J-Web interface.

    System Information Panel

    Field

    Description

    System name

    Local name of the QFX Series.

    Device model

    Model number of the QFX Series.

    Inventory details

    For QFX3500 switches the value in Inventory is always 1 FPC.

    Note: FPC is a legacy term for a slot in a large Juniper Networks chassis; here, it simply refers to the single switch.

    Junos image

    Version of the Junos OS image.

    Boot image

    Version of the boot image that is used.

    Device uptime

    Time elapsed since the last reboot.

    Last configured time

    Time when the switch was last configured.

    Health Status Panel

    Field

    Description

    QFX3500 Switches

    Memory util.

    Memory used in the Routing Engine.

    Flash

    Usage and capacity of internal flash memory and any external USB flash drive.

    CPU load

    Average CPU usage over 15 minutes.

    Fan status

    Status of the fans in the fan tray. The possible values are OK, Failed, and Absent.

    Capacity Utilization Panel

    Number of active ports

    Number of active ports in the switch.

    Total number of ports

    Number of ports in the switch.

    Used-up MAC-Table entries

    Number of MAC-Table entries.

    Supported MAC-Table entries

    Maximum number of MAC-Table entries permitted.

    Number of VLANs configured

    Number of VLANs configured.

    Number of VLANs supported

    Maximum number of VLANs supported.

    Alarms Panel

    The Alarms Panel displays information about the last five alarms raised in the system. For example, if there are 5 major alarms, then details for all 5 major alarms are displayed. If there are 4 major alarms and 3 minor alarms, then details of the 4 major alarms and 1 minor alarm are displayed. Major alarms are displayed in red and minor alarms are displayed in yellow.

    Chassis Viewer

    You can click the Rear View button to see an image of the back of the QFX Series chassis. Click Front View to see an image of the front of the QFX Series chassis. Table 4—Describes the chassis viewer for QFX3500 switches.

    Rear View

    Interface status

    In the image, the colors listed below denote the interface status:

    • Green—Interface is up and operational.
    • Yellow—Interface is up but is not operational.
    • Gray—Interface is down and not operational.

    Hover the mouse pointer over the interface (port) to view more information.

    Front View

    Management ports (me0, me1)

    The management ports are used to connect the switch to a management device for out-of-band management.

    Console port

    The console port is used to connect the switch to a management console or to a console server. (You might do this for initial switch configuration.)

    USB port

    Indicates the USB port for the switch.

    Note: We recommend you use USB flash drives purchased from Juniper Networks for your QFX Series.

    Fan tray

    Hover the mouse pointer over the fan tray icon to display Name, Status, and Description information.

    Power supply

    Hover the mouse pointer over the power outlet icon to display Name, Status, and Description information.

    LCD panel

    LCD panel configured for the LEDs on the ports. Hover the mouse pointer over the icon to view the current character display.
