SRX650 Services Gateway 24-Port XPIM Overview

The 24-Port Gigabit Ethernet XPIM is a double-high, double-wide, LAN switch GPIM that uses two standard slots vertically and two standard slots horizontally. It is available with or without Power over Ethernet (PoE) support. The PoE GPIMs provide ports that supply electric power over the same ports that are used to connect network devices. For more information about PoE, see SRX650 Services Gateway Power over Ethernet Overview.

The 24-Port XPIM must be installed in specific GPIM slot groupings as follows: the lower four slots (1, 2, 3, and 4) or the upper four slots (5, 6, 7, and 8).

The center GPIM slot bracket must also be removed before installing a double-high, double-wide GPIM. See Installing Double-High, Double-Wide GPIMs on the SRX650 Services Gateway for details.

Caution: GPIMs are not Online Insertion and Removal (OIR) capable. You must power off the services gateway before removing or inserting a GPIM. Ensure that the GPIM is installed in the appropriate GPIM slot before powering on the services gateway.
