Line-Card Chassis Interface Names

 

LCC Interface Name

In certain statements and commands in the CLI, you refer to a T1600 or T4000 router in a routing matrix as an lcc (line-card chassis).

You can configure an LCC in a routing matrix by including statements at the [edit chassis] and [edit chassis lcc lcc-number] hierarchy levels, where lcc-number is the chassis identifier (ID) of the LCC.

Operational commands that reference hardware components located in an LCC —such as TXP-T1600 SIBs, TXP-LCC-3D SIBs, FPCs, and PICs—require you to specify lcc followed by the chassis ID of the LCC.

For example, to display a list of all hardware components in an LCC (lcc 0), issue the show chassis hardware lcc lcc-number command.

In this example for a T1600 LCC, the TXP-T1600 SIB (LCC SIB) is installed.

The description for Routing Engine 0 and Routing Engine 1, part number 740-026941 is LCC RE before the Junos OS Release 10.3 , and RE-DUO-1800 for Junos OS Release 10.3 and later.

In this example for a T1600 LCC, the TXP-LCC-3D SIB (LCC SIB 3D) is installed.

FPC Interface Names

A routing matrix can contain up to eight T1600 LCCs or four T4000 LCCs. Each LCC can contain up to eight FPCs (numbered 0 through 7). Therefore, the routing matrix can consist of up to 64 FPCs (numbered 0 through 63). When you specify an FPC in an interface name and within certain commands, the LCC that contains that FPC is implicit. Table 1 shows the correspondence between the FPC hardware slot numbers in the LCCs and the FPC assignments recognized by a routing matrix.

Note

If the LCC chassis ID is specified in a command, the FPC slot range is always 0 through 7.

For example, in a routing matrix that contains LCC0 through LCC2, so-20/0/1 refers to FPC slot 4 of LCC2.
