Supported TX Matrix Plus Routing Matrix Configurations

 

Each configuration includes a TX Matrix Plus switch-fabric chassis (SFC) and line-card chassis (LCCs).

  • Each T1600 LCC connected to the TX Matrix Plus router adds 1.6 terabits per second (Tbps) of nonblocking subscriber switching capacity to the routing matrix.

  • Each T4000 LCC connected to the TX Matrix Plus router adds up to 2.0 terabits per second (Tbps), full duplex (4.0 Tbps of any-to-any, nonblocking, half-duplex) switching. capacity to the routing matrix.

TXP-T1600 Configuration

The routing matrix with a TXP-T1600 configuration consists of the following components:

  • One TX Matrix Plus router SFC set to CONFIG SIZE 0.

  • Up to four T1600 routers with TXP-T1600 SIBs.

  • Supported LCC Chassis ID are 0 through 3 .

  • Interchassis fiber-optic array cables that connect the TX Matrix Plus router and T1600 router. TXP-F13 SIBs in the TX Matrix Plus router connect with the TXP-T1600 SIBs in the T1600 routers to create a high-speed switch fabric.

  • Interchassis UTP Category 5 Ethernet cables that connect the TX Matrix Plus router and T1600 router control planes

  • SFC rear cable management system for the fiber-optic array cables. See TX Matrix Plus Rear Switching Plane Cable Management System.

  • Optional LCC rear cable management system to manage the fiber-optic array cables from the TXP-T1600 SIB. See Line-Card Chassis Component Overview.

  • Equipment racks for the TX Matrix Plus router and T1600 routers.

Figure 1 shows a routing matrix that connects to four T1600 routers.

TXP-T1600-3D Configuration

The routing matrix with a TXP-T1600-3D configuration consists of the following components:

  • One TX Matrix Plus router SFC set to CONFIG SIZE 3.

  • Up to eight T1600 routers with TXP-LCC-3D SIBs.

  • Interchassis CXP cables TXP-F13-3D SIBs in the TX Matrix Plus router to the TXP-LCC-3D SIBs in the T1600 routers to create a high-speed switch fabric.

  • Supported LCC Chassis ID are 0 through 7 .

  • Interchassis UTP Category 5 Ethernet cables that connect the TX Matrix Plus router and T1600 router control planes.

  • SFC rear cable management system for the CXP cables or active optical cables (AOCs) from the TXP-F13-3D SIBs. See TX Matrix Plus Switch-Fabric Chassis Component Overview.

  • Optional LCC rear cable management system to manage the CXP cables AOCs from the TXP-LCC-3D SIBs. See Line-Card Chassis Component Overview

  • Equipment racks for the TX Matrix Plus router and T1600 routers.

Figure 2 shows a routing matrix with eight T1600 routers —LCC0 through LCC7.

TXP-4000-3D Configuration

The routing matrix with an TXP-4000-3D configuration consists of the following components:

  • One TX Matrix Plus router SFC set to CONFIG SIZE 3.

  • Up to four T4000 routers with TXP-LCC-3D SIBs.

  • Supported LCC Chassis ID are 0, 2, 4, or 6 .

  • Interchassis CXP cables connect the TXP-F13-3D in the TX Matrix Plus router to the TXP-LCC-3D SIBs in the T4000 routers to create a high-speed switch fabric.

  • Interchassis UTP Category 5 Ethernet cables that connect the TX Matrix Plus router and T4000 router control planes.

  • SFC rear cable management system for the CXP cables or active optical cables (AOC) from the TXP-F13-3D SIBs. See TX Matrix Plus Rear Switching Plane Cable Management System.

  • Optional LCC rear cable management system to manage the CXP cables or active optical cables (AOC) from the TXP-LCC-3D SIBs. See Line-Card Chassis Component Overview

TXP-Mixed-LCC-3D Configuration

The routing matrix with a TXP-Mixed-LCC-3D configuration consists of the following components:

  • One TX Matrix Plus router SFC set to CONFIG SIZE 3.

  • Line-card chassis (LCC) with TXP-LCC-3D SIBs.

    • Six T1600 routers and one T4000 router.

    • Four T1600 routers and two T4000 routers.

    • Two T1600 routers and three T4000 routers.

  • Interchassis CXP cables to connect the TXP-F13-3D SIBs in the TX Matrix Plus router to the TXP-LCC-3D SIBs in the LCCs to create a high-speed switch fabric.

  • Interchassis UTP Category 5 Ethernet cables that connect the TX Matrix Plus router and LCC control planes.

  • SFC rear cable management system for the CXP cables or active optical cables (AOC) from the TXP-F13-3D SIBs. See TX Matrix Plus Rear Switching Plane Cable Management System.

  • Optional LCC rear cable management system to manage the CXP cables or active optical cables (AOC) from the TXP-LCC-3D SIBs. See Line-Card Chassis Component Overview

In this example, Figure 4 shows a TXP-MIXED-LCC-3D configuration with one T4000 router—LCC0—and six T1600 routers—LCC2, LCC3, LCC4, LCC4, LCC5, LCC6, and LCC7.

In this example, Figure 5 shows a TXP-MIXED-LCC-3D configuration with two T4000 routers —LCC0 and LCC2—and four T1600 routers —LCC4, LCC5, LCC6, and LCC7.
