    Understanding the J-Web Interface Sessions

You establish a J-Web interface session with the switch through an HTTP-enabled or HTTPS-enabled Web browser. The HTTPS protocol, which uses 128-bit encryption, is available only in domestic versions of the Juniper Networks Junos operating system (Junos OS). To use HTTPS, you must have an SSL certificate installed, and HTTPS enabled on the switch. See Generating SSL Certificates

When you attempt to log on and initiate a J-Web interface session, the switch authenticates your credentials using the same methods as for Telnet and SSH.

If the switch does not detect any J-Web interface activity for 15 minutes, the session times out and is terminated. You must log in again to begin a new session.

To explicitly terminate a J-Web interface session at any time, click Logout in the top pane.
