TX Matrix Power System Description
The TX Matrix router supports DC power only. The TX Matrix
router has two load-sharing DC power supplies, located at the lower
rear of the chassis in slots PEM0
and PEM1
(top to bottom). The power supplies connect to the
midplane, which distributes the different output voltages produced
by the power supplies to the TX Matrix router components, depending
on their voltage requirements.
Each power supply has either an active circuit breaker or an active current limiter for each output voltage it provides. There are no passive fuses in the TX Matrix router that must be replaced.
Each power supply is cooled by its own internal cooling system.
The TX Matrix router supports the DC power supplies in Table 1.
Mixing a two-input 160-A power supply and a three-input 240-A power supply in the same chassis is not supported during normal operations.
Table 1: Supported Power Supplies
Name | Model Number | First Supported Junos OS Release |
---|---|---|
Two-input 160-A DC power supply (EOL PSN-2010-01-644) | PWR-T-DC | 5.3 |
Three-input 240-A DC power supply See the TX Matrix Three-Input 240-A Power Supply Description. Note:
For TX Matrix, this power supply is supported only in | PWR-T1600-3-80-DC | 9.2 |
