Control Plane Connections Between the TX Matrix Router and T640 Router

 

The control plane connections between the T640 routers and the TX Matrix router are provided by UTP Category 5 Ethernet cables between the RJ-45 ports on the TX-CIPs in the TX Matrix router switch-card chassis (SCC) and the Control Boards in the T640 line-card chassis (LCC). The maximum length supported is 100 m. The UTP Category 5 cables do not have to be the same length. The cable wiring is straight-through (not crossover).

Note

An LCC-CB installed in a TX Matrix router SCC is not used for the control plane cable connections to the LCCs.

Note

The RJ-45 port labeled AUX on a T-CB is reserved for future use. The RJ-45 port labeled JCS and SFC 0 through SFC 4 on an LCC-CB are reserved for future use.

The cable connections provided in Table 1 apply to routing matrix configurations using from one through four T640 routers.

The RJ-45 ports labeled LCC4 through LCC7 on a TX-CIP are reserved for future use.

Figure 1 and Figure 2 shows the control plane connections between the TX Matrix router and a T640 router.
