SRX3400 Services Gateway Network Processing Cards

Network Processing Cards (NPCs) are Common Form-factor Module (CFM) cards that receive inbound traffic from the I/O Cards (IOCs) and direct it to the appropriate Services Processing Card (SPC) for processing. Once services processing is complete, the NPC receives outbound traffic from the SPC(s) and directs it back to the appropriate IOC. Additionally, the NPC performs the following functions:

Table 11 describes the NPC behavior indicated by the LEDs on its front panel. The ONLINE button does not perform any function. To power up and power down an NPC, you must use the main Power button on the front panel of the SFB.

On steadily

The NPC is operating normally.

Blinking

The NPC is preparing for hot-swap event.

Red

On steadily

The NPC has failed and is not operating normally.

Dark (unlit)

Off

The NPC is powered down.
