Tools and Parts Required for Installation

Gather the tools and equipment listed in Table 1 for installing the switch in a 4 post rack.

Tools and Equipment
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap
A Phillips (+) screwdriver, number 2
One pair of rear mounting blades
One pair of front mounting rails
Twelve crews to secure the mounting rails to the chassis
Eight screws to secure the chassis and rear installation blades to the rack
Grounding lug, Panduit LCD10-10A-L or equivalent, two 10-32 x 0.25 screws with #10 split-lock washers to secure the grounding lug to the grounding lug bracket protective earthing terminal
Two power cords with plugs appropriate to your geographical location
RJ-45 cable and RJ-45 to DB-9 serial port adapter
A Management host, such as a laptop or PC, with an Ethernet port
An Ethernet cable with an RJ-45 connector attached
Register product serial numbers on the Juniper Networks website and update the installation base data if there is any addition or change to the installation base or if the installation base is moved. Juniper Networks will not be held accountable for not meeting the hardware replacement service-level agreement for products that do not have registered serial numbers or accurate installation base data.
