OSPFv3 Virtual Router Settings

The Open Shortest Path First version 3 (OSPFv3) routing protocol is a modified version of the Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing protocol that supports Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). A router running OSPFv3 identifies its neighboring routers only by their router IDs.

To Create or Edit an OSPF Routing Instance

  1. Enter the necessary information:

Clear Statistics: Select this checkbox to clear all the statistics information about the objects associated with an OSPFv3 routing instance.

Clear SPF Calculate: Select this checkbox to clear all the OSPFv3 routes and force the routing instance to repopulate the routes without altering the link-state databases.

OSPFV3 Enabled: Select to enable the current OSPFv3 routing instance. OSPFv3 routing instances can be in one of two states: enabled or disabled. The default is disabled. To have an active OSPFv3 routing instance, you must enable it.

  1. Click OK to save your changes and return to the Virtual Router Basic Configuration page. Click Apply to continue configuring the OSPF routing instance.

If you clicked Apply, the following links appear at the top of the page: Area, Summary Import, Redistributable Rules, Virtual Link and Interface.
