OSPFv3 allows networks to be grouped together logically or geographically by the use of areas. Areas reduce the amount of routing information exchanged throughout the network. In addition to the normal OSPFv3 area, you can configure the following type of area:
Stub Area: An area that receives route summaries from the backbone but does not receive linkstate advertisements from other areas for routes learned through non-OSPFv3 sources.
To Modify
an Area's TypeFrom the Area Type drop-down list, select one of the following: normal or stub. Click OK to save the configuration.
