USM User Configuration

The security device administrator can create a USM user and set the corresponding privilege and password for the user. The administrator can configure no more than 32 users.

To Create a New User

  1. Enter the following information:

User Name: Enter the name of the user. The length of the username must be no more than 32 characters.

Authentication Type: Enter the authentication type. The default value is None. Select from MD5, SHA, or None.

Authentication Password: Enter a password for the authentication type. The length of the password must be no more than 32 characters.

Privacy Protocol: Enter the privacy protocol. The default value is None. Select from DES or None.

Privacy Password: Enter a password for the privacy protocol. The length of the password must be less than or equal to 32 characters.

  1. Click OK to save the new USM user configuration settings.
