Monitoring ARP Details

Purpose

Display information about ARP.

Action

To display information about ARP:

Meaning

Table 1 lists the show arp command output fields.

Field Name

Field Description

Address

IP address of the entry

Age

Time to live for this entry in seconds

Hardware Addr

Physical (MAC) address of the entry

Interface

Interface-specifier of the entry (for example, fastEthernet6/0 is an Ethernet interface on slot 6, port 0)

*—Indicates that an ARP entry was added because of an arp validate command, rather than just an arp command.
