Naming the System

When you receive the router, it has a factory default host name. You can rename the router using the hostname command.

To rename the router:

• Issue the hostname command in Global Configuration mode. The assigned name is displayed in the CLI prompts.
  router1(config)#hostname host1host1(config)#
