Configuring Service Manager

To use the Service Manager application to create subscriber service sessions, you perform the following tasks:

• Create and manage service definitions. (See Managing Your Service Definitions.)
  • Use the macro language to define service definitions.
  • Download service definition macro files to the router’s nonvolatile storage (NVS).
  • Install service definitions on the router.
  • Uninstall service definitions.
• Configure the Service Manager license. (See Configuring the Service Manager License.)
• Configure RADIUS accounting. (See Understanding RADIUS Accounting for Service Manager and Configuring Service Interim Accounting.)
• Use RADIUS login and RADIUS CoA to manage subscriber service sessions. (See Overview of Managing Subscriber Service Sessions Using RADIUS and Activating Subscriber Service Sessions Using RADIUS.)
  • Specify the subscriber. (See Understanding Service Manager RADIUS Attributes.)
  • Specify optional attributes.
  • Enable statistics collection. (See Configuring Service Manager Statistics.)
  • Activate the service session. (See Deactivating Service Sessions Using RADIUS.)
  • Deactivate service sessions. (See Activating Subscriber Service Sessions Using RADIUS.)
  • (Optional for RADIUS CoA method) Configure the CoA feature for the RADIUS dynamic-request server. (See the Configuring RADIUS Dynamic-Request Server chapter in this guide)
• Use the CLI to manage subscriber service sessions. (See Preprovisioning Service Sessions and Activating Subscriber Sessions Using the CLI.)
  • Specify the subscriber. (See Working with Service Session Profiles.)
  • Create and apply optional service session profiles.
  • Enable statistics collection. (See Configuring Service Manager Statistics.)
  • Activate the service session. (See Activating Subscriber Sessions Using the CLI.)
  • Deactivate service sessions. (See Overview of Deactivating Subscriber Service Sessions Using the CLI.)

Figure 28 shows the sequence of operations you use to create and monitor subscriber service sessions.
