Syntax

authentication key [ 0 | 8 ] authkey

Command introduced before JunosE Release 7.1.0.

Description

Specifies the password for text authentication and the key for MD5 authentication for RIP remote-neighbor interface. The no version clears the key for the interface. Supported only in RIP version 2. Authentication is disabled by default.

Options

• 0—Indicates the authKey is entered in unencrypted form (plaintext); this is the default option
• 8—Indicates the authKey is entered in encrypted form (ciphertext)
• authkey—Password sent with RIP messages or the key used to encrypt/decrypt RIP messages, depending on the authentication mode set for this remote-neighbor interface.
