Release 11.1 | 11.0 | 10.3 | 10.2 | 10.1 | 10.0 | 9.3 | 9.2 | 9.1 | Special Notices | Archives | How to Find Information in E-series and Junose Documentation
The E-series and JUNOSe technical documentation consists of several hardware and software guides. Click here for a list of documents, and a description of the contents of each book. Not all titles may be available for all releases. The descriptions of each book apply to the content in the documentation for the most recent release.
Methods for Locating Information in E-series and JUNOSe Documentation
You can look for information within the documentation set in the following ways:
JUNOSe Comprehensive Index
The JUNOSe Comprehensive Index combines the index entries from all the JUNOSe software configuration guides and command reference guides. Each index entry indicates the book and page number where you can find the topic mentioned or discussed. After you locate the entry you want, note the book name and page number. Then do one of the following:
- Open the PDF version of the book and go to the page number at the bottom right or left of the text page (not the PDF page number of the PDF file itself).
- Open the HTML version of the book in a browser window and use the software book's index to locate the topic. Then click the blue underlined topic link to go to the topic discussion.
NOTE: Because of the tools used to create the Comprehensive Index, you cannot click an entry in it and go to the topic discussion directly.
Search Engine
To look for information using a search engine:
- In a PDF file, use the Find command (Ctrl+F) or the Search command (Shift+Ctrl+F) and type one or more words or a phrase to search for.
- From the Juniper Networks Technical Documentation Web site (http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/), do one of the following:
- Click Technical Documentation Advanced Search in the left column of the screen. Select the appropriate sources and file formats to narrow the areas of your search, enter the topic in the Enter a Keyword text box, and click Search.
- Use the Search facility at the top of the page. To search only the product documentation, select This Section, enter the topic in the text box, and click the arrow to start the search.
Indexes in a Book
Each book has a complete index. Book indexes of PDF and HTML (Frames) versions are located at the bottom of the Bookmarks tab (for PDF) or of the left navigation frame (HTML). In HTML (No Frames) versions, the index is the last entry at the bottom of the list of main topics.
- In a PDF file index, click an entry or subentry to go directly to where that topic is mentioned or discussed in that book.
- In the index of an HTML file (Frames and No Frames versions), click a blue underlined link to go directly to where that topic is mentioned or discussed in that book.
Tables of Contents in a Book
Each book has a table of contents. To locate the contents:
- In a PDF file, the contents are listed by main topic in the Bookmarks tab at the left.
- In an HTML (Frames) file, click the Expand TOC link in the left navigation frame to display the complete contents listing. To display only the main topics, click the Collapse TOC link in the left navigation frame.
- In an HTML (No Frames) file, click the Long Contents link at the left of the window to display the complete contents listing. To display only the main topics, click the Short Contents link in the left navigation frame.
