Example: Configuring an Access Point Cluster (J-Web)

This example shows how to configure an access point cluster with the following settings:

  1. Select Configure>Wireless LAN>Clustering.
  2. In the Cluster Settings page, click Add.
  3. In the Add - Cluster window, select the Basic Settings tab.
  4. Next to Cluster ID, enter 1.
  5. Next to Cluster Name, enter cluster1.
  6. Next to Interface, select fe–0/0/5.
  7. Click OK to return to the Cluster Settings tab.

To add ap-1 to cluster id 1:

  1. In the Cluster Settings page, click Associate/Dissociate APs.
  2. In the Associate/Dissociate Access Points window, select the access point ap-1 and click –> to make the access point ap-1 part of this cluster.

    Note: The access point ap-1 should be configured to associate it with the cluster.

  3. Click OK.

To configure cluster id 1 with the following settings:

  1. Under Radio ID, click Add.
  2. In the Add - Radio window, select the Radio tab.
  3. Under Radio Type, select Radio 1.
  4. Select the Radio Settings tab.
  5. Next to mode, select a.
  6. Next to Fragmentation threshold, enter 256.
  7. Select Protection.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Commit.

You can also add an access point to a cluster while configuring an access point.

To add an access point to a cluster ID:

  1. Select Configure>Wireless LAN>Settings.
  2. In the Add - Access Point window, select the Basic Settings tab.
  3. Next to Cluster ID, select 1.
  4. Click OK.
