Understanding Access Point Cluster Configuration
You configure a cluster from the CLI by using the following parameters and identifiers.
- ID: A cluster is configured with its ID being the primary index for referencing it across configurations.
- name: Name of the cluster that will be configured on the access point. It is mandatory to set the name of the cluster.
- interfaces: This parameter identifies the interface for which the cluster is being defined. Valid interfaces are those defining the IP subnet. It is mandatory to define the interface for which the cluster is configured.
- channel-management: When defined with the cluster, this attribute enables channel management.
- default-cluster: When defined with cluster, this attribute makes the cluster a default cluster on the interface for which it is defined.
- access-point-options: Various
parameters of an access point that are shared within a cluster of
access points are configured here.
SRX Series devices are preconfigured with a default cluster before being shipped. This eases the deployment and commissioning of the wireless LAN system. An access point connected to the SRX Series device through its fe or ge port is automatically configured and made a member of this default cluster. The default cluster can be manually deleted by the administrator, in which case, the access points being connected to the SRX Series device will operate as standalone access points. The administrator can mark any one cluster as the default cluster for an interface.
- radio: Radio parameters and options that are shared across members of an access point cluster are configured here.
- system: System-shared parameters used for Network Time Protocol (NTP) server configuration.
