Release Information
Statement introduced in Release 10.0 of Junos OS.
Description
Configure the SRX Series survivable call server (SRX Series SCS) component of Integrated Convergence Services. If the peer call server is unavailable and the SRX Series SCS is configured, the SRX Series SCS assumes control. It provides call handling services and call routing previously provided by the peer call server.
![]() | Note: When you configure the peer call server, you can specify a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) for the server address rather than an IP address so that multiple servers can be used. In this case, the SRX Series SCS sends heartbeat messages to all servers to determine which ones are available. It uses the preferred server, based on the domain name services (DNS) result. |
There are many reasons for the peer call server to become unreachable. For example, there could be a disconnected cable, a congested network, routing problems, transport level problems or a denial-of-service attack on the application server hosting the peer call server.
While it is in control, the SRX Series survivable call server (SRX Series SCS) monitors the health of the peer call server to determine if it has become reachable. To determine if the peer call server has recovered from the fault condition that caused it to become unreachable, the SRX Series SCS relies on a set of keepalive parameters and timers.
